Teaching Pedagogy

The core objective of the institute is to introduce a student to the professional in him by honing his unexplored talent and skills. To bring the best out of a student, it calls for a strategically designed courseware & teaching methodology. Mere transmission of knowledge from teacher to student cannot assure a promising future for the students. The implementation and retention of that knowledge by the students is of paramount importance for securing a successful future. No effort is spared to make sure that the teaching methodology is such that guarantees the delivery of best academic and practical knowledge to the student.

The journey of a student at KCC, from an aspiring professional to a real one gets concluded after he goes through a joyful academic journey wherein each of the following teaching methodology contributes to his success.

Case Study Learning

Case study learning proves to be a very productive platform for the students to work upon their ability to analyze problems and thereon developing a rational approach to problem solving techniques.

Initially adopted by business schools in the US, case study learning has now become an integral element of teaching and learning pedagogy in all the major fields of study at top institutes in India.

In this method, students are asked to analyze a specific situation or challenge by business and industry called a "case".

At the KCC Institute of Technology and Management, the case study method is used extensively at both the management and engineering schools to expose students to strategies deployed to arrive at solutions using a problem-solving approach. Students are asked to make live presentations using the case study method which is followed by an in-depth discussion of the case.

Intellectual Sports

The students are indulged in such games and activities which in turn harness their decision making skills, presentation skills and innovative skills.

The game sessions also make the student more pro-active and an indulgent team player. Intellectual sports such as role playing, creative mind games and extempore presentations help students to further refine their analytical, decision-making, team building and participation skills.

They also help with building self-confidence and self-esteem. AT the KCC Institute of Technology and Management, these activities are conducted regularly.

While many events are routinely organized by departments as a part of instruction delivery, students also organize these events during informal group meetings, competitions and the annual KCC Student Festival. Students participate enthusiastically in large numbers and benefit greatly from these events in many ways.

Group Discussions

Healthy group discussions are promoted so that the students become more expressive, and well-articulated and at the same time inculcate the spirit of participation in them.

Student participation in group discussions (GDs) is not limited to the placement season alone at KCC.

They are held regularly, often in small groups under faculty supervision, to help students learn how to present either a perspective or a point of view in front of a knowledgeable audience.

This way, any learning gaps are identified well ahead of the placement season when companies formally arrive on campus to recruit students for full-time positions. Many of the leading organizations that visit the KCC campus each year conduct group discussions as a part of their student evaluation and assessment endeavors.

Industry Visits

During the course students get the advantage of visiting various corporate and industrial houses and get a feel of working environment prevailing there.

The visits are aimed at making the students correlate academics with the practical world. Practical and hands-on exposure to business and industry are inherent components of the KCC student mandate.

Both the undergraduate and postgraduate students at the KCC Institute of Technology and Management routinely participate in industry visits throughout the academic term. These destinations, which are usually located suitably for day trips, are carefully chosen by department heads to add relevance and constructive meaning to the effort.

While engineering students visit manufacturing and research facilities, management students visit leading multinational corporates to receive nuts-and-bolts exposure to the functioning of big business. Industry visits pave the way for student internships and possible employment once students graduate and are ready to join the rank and file of their respective professions.

Classroom Learning
