M.Tech. Mechanical

Mechanical engineering is regarded as one of the most dynamic disciplines within the field of engineering.   It applies the theories, principles and concepts of engineering to the design and manufacturing of many of the systems and products we use daily. The discipline leverages key technologies such as CAD/CAM, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and product lifecycle management to enhance the quality of our lives through innovation. Mechanical engineers construct manufacturing facilities, plants, transportation systems, industrial equipment and a dazzling array of machinery to build a better planet and sustain it.

The M.Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering at the KCC Institute of Technology and Management is a specialized post graduate qualification that is designed to enable students to assume leadership roles in an industrial setting by demonstrating superior levels of competency and performance not only on a production floor but also in a design lab. The degree is of two years duration full-time. It is recognized by UGC and AICTE. The degree is awarded by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University.


The Mechanical Engineering Department at KCC fosters the principles of applied learning so that students are job ready even before they complete the course. Many of our faculty members have spent decades working for India’s most prominent manufacturing companies . It is this body of  experience and knowledge, combined with advanced university degrees, that enables them to teach, guide and mentor students throughout the degree. Faculty members in the Department routinely organize industry visits and invite their colleagues from a wide variety of industries to lecture to students and network with them.

2 years (4 Semesters)



Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in the stream in which they wish to pursue an M.Tech. at KCC. Candidates must have passed B.E/B.Tech. in their respective disciplines with a minimum of 60% in aggregate. SC/ST/PwD candidates.
Can apply with a minimum of 54% marks. Non GATE candidates are granted admission to M.Tech. degrees on the basis of their Qualifying Exam Marks for the vacant seats left after GATE candidates are allotted seats.


Admission is granted through competitive performance in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Reservation in admission to the M.Tech. degrees are  governed by AICTE/State Government/ Central Government rules.

Management seats are filled directly by the institute by conducting institute level counseling based on the merit of SEE- UPTU : 2017 / AIEEE rank & merit in qualifying examination.

A full spectrum of career opportunities and options await students who complete the M.Tech. course  in Mechanical Engineering from KCC. They are eligible to work for both private industry and government not only in India but around the world. Some of the top industry verticals which recruit mechanical engineers include automobile, aerospace, defence, HVAC and related industries. Students can also pursue a full-time career track in teaching as well as research.

Higher Studies

Students who complete the M.Tech. degree in Mechanical Engineering are eligible to pursue a Ph.D. in a variety of super specializations within the field of mechanical engineering. They include but are not limited to the following:
