Department

The traces of application of Mechanical Engineering can be found in all the fields. It involves the understanding and applicability of laws and principles of physics to analyze, design, manufacture and upkeep mechanical systems. You will learn how machines and other mechanical systems work and how they are designed. How do the gearbox, clutch and engine in a car operate? How were they designed? This mechanical engineering course covers a lot more than just engines!

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The department focuses extensively on the practical sessions so as to give an in-depth understanding of Robot fundamentals, Simulation, Manipulation, Control and Programming.

Eligibility

Eligibility
Candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology.

Procedure
Admission to the B. Tech. Mechanical Engineering would be done on the basis of rank obtained in SEE – UPTU: 2017 . Management seats are filled directly by the institute by conducting institute level counseling based on the merit of SEE- UPTU : 2017 / AIEEE rank & merit in qualifying examination.

NRI SEATS
5% of the management seats would be available for NRI candidates. NRI seats would be filled up as per AICTE and University norms i.e. by NRIs who have passed the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from an Institute situated outside India provided such qualification is considered equivalent to 10+2 Examination by the Association of Indian Universities.

Lateral Entry

For Diploma holders: Passed qualifying examination from an AICTE approved Institution with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category).

For B.Sc. graduates: Passed B.Sc. Degree from recognized University as defined by UGC with at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and passed XII standard with Mathematics as a subject.

Provided that these students shall clear the subjects of Engineering Graphics / Engineering Drawing and Engineering Mechanics of the first year Engineering Program along with second year subjects.
