CLAT Registration 2027: Application Form, Last Date, Fee & How to Apply

The Consortium of NLU was released the CLAT 2027 application form, on August 03, 2026, for students on its Online Application Portal - Register on Official Site, and it will close on October 31, 2026. Students can access the application form on the official website, and the entire process is online.
 
The CLAT 2027 registration last date is set to end on October 31, 2026, and students must pay their registration fee before the deadline. The correction window will open after the registration period is closed. The CLAT 2027 exam is scheduled for December 6, 2026. The results will be announced in late December or Early January 2027.
 
Below are specific instructions for candidates on how to register, fill out the CLAT application form, and pay the fee. The CLAT 2027 exam date is set to take place on December 6, 2026. The CLAT 2027 application form fee remains the same as last year, which is INR 4000 for General/OBC/NRI candidates and INR 3500 for SC/ST/BPL/PwD.
 
The CLAT 2027 registration form date and time were announced along with the notification on July 22, 2026, by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). Candidates who fill out the CLAT registration form will be able to sit for the CLAT 2027 exam.

Latest Changes Made by the Consortium of NLUs

"Persons with Disability” (PwD) Policy for CLAT 2027 – September 7, 2026
  • CLAT 2027 applicants with disabilities or who suffered a disability post-application can check the new PwD policies and special provisions (same as last year) provided to them in a notification released on September 7, 2026, by Consortium of NLU on the official website.
Changes in Reservation Category West Bengal - September 5, 2026
  • Students who applied for the CLAT 2027 under the West Bengal Domicile have up to October 31, 2026, to replace their "OBC – A” and “OBC – B” categories with the “OBC” category in their application form, as per the notification released by the NLU on September 5, 2026, merging both categories into one OBC category.
Meghalaya Domicile Reservation Category Changes - September 5, 2026
  • CLAT 2027 applicants under Meghalaya Domicile must update their reservation category by October 31, 2026, which now includes Khasi, Jaintia, Garo, and other SC/ST categories, as per the notification released on September 5, 2026, by the Consortium of NLU.
Removal of Vellore and Tiruvarur as Test Cities - September 3, 2026
  • CLAT 2027 applicants who selected Vellore and Tiruvarur as their test cities must change their city preferences by October 31, 2026, since both cities have been eliminated from the list of Test Cities in a notification released on September 3, 2026, by the Consortium of NLU.

Steps to fill the CLAT 2027 Application Form

The CLAT 2027 application form date was released on August 3, 2026, after the official notification was released on July 22, 2026. The application fee remains the same as last year, with no changes recommended. 
 
Applicants can fill out the CLAT application form without making any mistakes by following these steps:
 

Step 1: CLAT Registration

A notice will show up on the homepage when you visit the CLAT Consortium's official website, https://consortiumofnlus.ac.in/. and applicants have to click "CLICK HERE" to access the application window.
 
First-time applicants must create an account by clicking on the "Don't have an account?" tab and following the guidelines.  The tab is positioned on the left side of the application window. 
 
After the account is created, just press the "Register" button.
 
The online CLAT 2027 application form appearing on the screen will require the following information from candidates to register:
 
  • Name: As stated on academic records (such as a certificate of completion for class 10 or a certificate of name change, if applicable).
  • Cell phone Number: Applicants have to provide a working cell phone number, either their own or that of their parents or legal guardians.
  • Password: Candidates are required to come up with a strong and safe password that has at least eight characters and contains both capital and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
Students will receive a 4-digit OTP code on their registration contact number after they click on the "Register" tab. Applicants must enter this code in the given tab to activate their CLAT login account:
 

Step 2: Activation of the Account

Soon after the OTP code is entered, candidates will be able to fill out the CLAT 2027 application form.
 
The account activation box will show the message “Account Activated”.
 
Next, the login page will appear, which students can use to access their accounts and start filling out the form. 
 

Step 3: Completing the application

After that, candidates can complete the CLAT Registration as follows using their CLAT login:
 
Upload photo and signature: After registering for CLAT 2027, candidates are required to upload their photo and signature. The image has to be clear and facing the front. The file format has to be JPG/JPEG only, and the signature has to be a scanned copy.
 
Complete the form: Applicants need to provide the following information on the application form:
 
Enter the name of the applicant as it appears on the Class 10+2 certificate.
  • Choose a gender.
  • Choose your birthdate in the format MM/DD/YY.
  • Put the father's name here.
  • Put the mother's name here.
  • Choose a nationality.
  • Choose from the General, OBC, SC, and ST categories for all of India. A new field for uploading a supporting document issued by the appropriate authorities will appear if you choose a category other than general. The document must be less than 1.5 MB in size and PDF format.
  • Choose whether you fall under the PWD or BPL (Below Poverty Line) categories. If so, you must upload the relevant documents in PDF format with a maximum size of 1.5 MB.
 
Candidates then have to move on to the following step:
 
Candidates are required to supply the following communication address-related information:
 
  • The current residential address is the correspondence address.
  • Choose the state, UT, and district.
  • Enter the correct address's PIN.
  • Enter your permanent address; if it is the same as the correspondence address, enter the same information.
  • Enter your email address and mobile number.

Details of the qualifying exam: On the application form, candidates are required to submit the following academic information:

  • Qualification test Board/University
  • Status of the qualifying exam: passed, appeared, or already appeared
  • Choose the month in which you passed the test.
  • Choose the year of passing.
  • Enter the percentage of qualifying marks.
Test Centre Preference: Applicants are require to rank at least three cities on the CLAT 2027 test centre list.
 
College Preferences: Candidates were required to rank the National Law Universities (NLUs) at this step out of 26 NLUs.
 
Reservation: In this phase, candidates could choose from the available reservation quota at each NLU. If you want to be admitted under the reserved category, please fill out the necessary information.
 

Step 4: Pay your CLAT 2027 Registration Fees

Candidates are required to pay the CLAT 2027 application form fees as follows after completing the application form:
 
  • Click the "Make Payment" button that is green on the dashboard.
  • Review the payment pop-up window appears with fee breakdown.
  • After making the necessary selections, pay the application cost.
 
The following is the application fee for each category:

Applicants should be aware that the application cost will include any additional bank fees of at least INR 50.
 
After the application form has been successfully reviewed and submitted, candidates can download their completed CLAT application form PDF from the dashboard. Just click on the "CLAT application form PDF download" to download it as a PDF file. Students should also print a hard copy of the CLAT 2027 application form PDF for future use.

92,344 applicants signed up for the CLAT 2026 exam, which represents a 17% increase over the previous year. Of these, 88,657 applicants from both UG and PG programs actually took the test.
 
The statistical breakdown shows that involvement is strong overall:

Q1. Who is eligible to apply for CLAT 2027? 
Students must have passed their class XII or taken their class 12 examinations this year to be eligible to apply for UG courses.
