How many papers are there in CLAT?

The CLAT is a single-paper test with 120 questions broken down into five sections based on the weight allocated to each section. The highest weight in CLAT exam pattern 2024 is 25% for general knowledge and legal thinking, 20% for English and logical reasoning, and 10% for quantitative approaches.

Key information about the CLAT 2024 exam pattern

Type of questions: There will be a passage of about 350–450 words in each component of the CLAT question paper (except the quantitative approaches section), which will be followed by a series of multiple-choice questions. Quantitative Techniques will include topics like Short sets of facts or propositions, graphs, or other textual, graphical, or diagrammatic representations of numerical information.

Number of questions and negative markings in the CLAT: In the CLAT exam pattern 2024, negative markings will be applied for wrong answers. A negative marking of 0.25 will be applied for each wrong answer, as per the CLAT new pattern. Questions that are not attended will result in no deduction of marks.
