Q1. Is the CAT Exam Particularly Difficult?

A thorough preparation will make the CAT exam easy to pass. Based on class 12 levels, the CAT exam syllabus includes questions from VARC, DILR, and QA. Nonetheless, the majority of candidates believe that the CAT exam is difficult due to the intense rivalry and the small number of IIM seats.

Q2. Is there an Annual CAT Syllabus?

Sure. The syllabus for the CAT course hasn't changed in a long time. The majority of the CAT syllabus questions have also been asked.

Q3. Which three subjects make up the CAT exam? What is the CAT exam syllabus?

The official CAT syllabus for 2024 covers the following subjects:

  • VARC includes one-word substitution, sentence correction, inferences, odd one-out, syllogisms and analogies, para jumbles, sentence completion, and reading comprehension-based questions.
  • DILR includes tables, clocks, calendars, syllogisms, blood relations, graphs, and seating arrangements.
  • QA includes number systems, geometry, algebra, mensuration, and time and work.

Q4. How many attempts at the CAT are permitted?

IIMs have not stated how many attempts an applicant is permitted to make. Applicants may take the CAT exam if they meet the eligibility requirements. However, before submitting an application for admission, it's crucial to review the IIM MBA eligibility requirements.

Q5. Is math a big part of CAT? Which CAT Syllabus section is the hardest?

Basic math in CAT is based on levels from 9 to 12. While DILR emphasizes greater logical reasoning and calls for very basic arithmetic skills, the CAT QA syllabus 2024 is more math-based. Before beginning their study, students who struggle with math are recommended to review the previous year's CAT question papers to get a sense of the questions that will be asked.

The CAT DILR portion may be the most difficult of the three, based on trends from prior years.

Q6. Which four disciplines make up the CAT?

The CAT syllabus covers numeric ability, logical thinking, data interpretation, and reading comprehension.

Q7. What are complete marks in CAT?

The maximum score for the CAT exam is 198. A correct response in the CAT is worth three marks, according to the marking scheme. For every wrong answer, one mark is taken away. Negative marking is not applied to non-MCQ questions. Unattempted questions do not result in a mark deduction or deduction. The CAT exam does not follow a set format.
