Anti Ragging Policy

Institute Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging

On the KCC campus, ragging is completely forbidden. Anyone found guilty of this crime will face harsh consequences, and a formal complaint will be filed against them. At the time of admission, students are given an assurance that they will refrain from engaging in the illegal practice of ragging.

According to the Supreme Court's ruling, ragging is illegal.

anti ragging policy

"Causing, inducing, compelling or forcing a student, whether by way of practical joke or otherwise, to do any act which detracts from human dignity or violates his/her person or exposes him/her to ridicule from doing any lawful act. By intimidating, wrongfully restraining, wrongfully confining, or injuring him or by using criminal force on him/her or by holding out to him/her any threat of intimidation, wrongful confinement, injury or the use of criminal force."

"Ragging in all its forms is totally banned in this institution including in its departments, constituent units, all its premises (academic, residential, sports, kiosks, cafeteria and the like) whether located within the campus or outside and in all means of transportation of students whether public or private.

The institution shall take strict action including but not limited to criminal proceeding and/or cancellation of admission against those found guilty of ragging and/or of abetting ragging and the burden of proof shall hereby lie on the perpetrator of alleged ragging and not on the victim. An offense of Ragging may be charged either on a written complaint by the affected or on independent finding of the Anti-Ragging Squad. The Institution is bound by the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions 2009."

Anti-Ragging Measures: Submission of Affidavit by the Student/Parent/Guardian

You are completely aware of the government's and the Supreme Court's orders regarding anti-ragging efforts. According to the most recent policy, before a student can register at the university, all parents and guardians must file an affidavit. Affidavits can be downloaded from the links below, and they must be presented on non-judicial paper for Rs. 10 and properly attested by the oath commissioner.

AOn the day of the student's registration, any parent, guardian, or student may download the document, have it properly attested by the Oath Commissioner, and bring it. Please take note that Annexures I and II contain two affidavits. The student must sign Annexure I, and the parent or legal guardian must sign Annexure II.

A student will not be permitted to continue with the registration process if they fail to submit the same. Additionally, it is asked that friends share this information.

Additionally, a First Information Report (FIR) will be submitted to the local police authority for each and every instance of ragging. Strict incarceration is one of the possible penalties (in accordance with the Supreme Court of India's ruling).
