May 2026 Session Dates
Exams for MAT May 2026 are scheduled for May 31 (PBT) and June 14 (CBT).
Applicants can register on the AIMA MAT website if they want to take the test during the May session. Registrations were opened on April 1, 2026, and will continue till May 25 for PBT and June 8 for CBT.
Admit cards for both PBT and CBT modes will be released on May 28 and June 11, 2026.
Starting with the May session, the MAT application cost has been raised. Candidates must now pay INR 2300 for a single session and INR 4000 for two attempts.
February 2026 Session Dates
MAT 2026 Registration for the February Session began on December 26, 2025. The registrations for both the PBT and CBT modes continued till February 23 and March 2, 2026, respectively. The exams for both the PBT and CBT modes will take place on March 1 and March 8, 2026, respectively.
The MAT 2026 admit cards for both the PBT and CBT modes were released on February 26 for the PBT mode and March 5 for the CBT mode.
The exams for the February session for the MAT 2026 took place on March 1 for the PBT mode, and on March 8 for the PBT mode.
The results for both the CBT mode and the PBT mode exams are expected to be release soon.
Please note: The MAT 2026 will have 4 sessions in February, May, August, and December in Paper-Based Test PBT and Computer-Based Test CBT. MAT 2026 will not be conducted in the Internet-Based Test IBT mode, since it was discontinued by the AIMA in 2025 and is no longer available.
On both days, the exam will be administered in a single shift from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Applicants may sign up for one or both shifts. The MAT fee has been increased this year by Rs 100 for a single session and by Rs 200 for two sessions.
The new fees for both the PBT and CBT modes are 2300 for one mode and 40`00 for two modes.
MAT Exam Dates for the Previous Year 2025 Sessions
December Session dates 2025
Registrations for the MAT 2025 exam for the December session began on 23 October 2025 and continued until 7 December 2025 for PBT mode exams, and until 15 December 2025 for CBT mode exams. The registrations were concluded.
The admit cards for the September session exams were made available on 18 December for CBT and on 10 December for PBT.
The exams for the December session took place on 21 December 2025 for the CBT mode, and on 13 December for the PBT mode.
The results for both the CBT mode and the PBT mode exams are expected to be released in the second week of January 2026.
September Session Dates 2025
The registrations for the MAT 2025 exam for the September session were held from 23 July to 22 September 2025 for CBT mode exams, and from 23 July to 15 September 2025 for PBT mode exams.
The admit cards for the September session exams were made available from 25 to 28 September 2025 for CBT, and from 18 to 21 September 2025 for PBT.
The exams for the September session were held on 21 September 2025 for the PBT mode, and on 28 September for the CBT mode.
The results for both the CBT mode and the PBT mode exams held in the September session were released on October 12, 2025.
Special July Session Dates 2025
A special July session was held by the AIMA to give candidates a final opportunity to gain admission to MBA/PGDM programs for the current academic year of 2025-27. The exam was held only in CBT mode.
The registrations for the MAT 2025 exam for the special July session were held from 18 June to 14 July 2025 for the CBT mode.
The admit cards for the special July session were released on 17 July 2025.
The CBT exam for the special July session was held on 20 July 2025.
The results for the CBT exam for the special July session were released on 24 July 2025.
MAT Exam Date 2025 : Overview
The Management Aptitude Test, or MAT, is administered four times a year by the All India Management Association. The exam provides admission to more than 800 business institutions in India for PGDM and MBA programs.
The February Session for the MAT 2026 began on December 26, 2025, and applicants had until February 23, 2026, to register for the PBT mode, and until March 2 for the CBT mode. The admit cards for both the PBT and CBT modes were released on February 26 and March 5, respectively. The exams took place on March 1 and March 8, 2026.
The May 2026 session registration is currently ongoing, and students can apply for the exam till May 25 for the PBT mode, and June 8 for the CBT mode. The exams will take place on May 31 (PBT) and June 14 (CBT).
Two methods were used to administer the MAT exam 2025: a computer-based test (CBT) and a paper-based test (PBT). The Internet-based Test IBT version was not conducted throughout the MAT 2025 exam since AIMA cancelled it last year, and it will remain discontinued in 2026 as well. Candidates must verify their MAT eligibility criteria 2026 on the website before submitting a test application.
The MAT exam pattern 2026 has 150 questions in total in 5 sections. More than 500 MBA/PGDM colleges are accepting the MAT Result 2026 for MBA admission in 2026.
