How Can I Determine My MAT Score and Percentile for 2026?
Each candidate's scores in Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, and Intelligence & Critical Reasoning will be used to determine the MAT exam result and score for 2026.
When calculating the MAT percentile, the Economic & Business Environment component score will not be taken into account. Let's examine the MAT marking scheme 2026:
-
Every MAT question is worth one mark.
-
For every incorrect attempt, there is a 0.25 mark deduction.
-
Unanswered questions do not result in a mark deduction.
-
The MAT aggregate score falls between 199 and 801.
-
A scale from 0 to 100 is used to determine the scores for the four sections.
-
A scale of 199 to 801 is used to report the MAT Composite Score.
What is the selection procedure for MAT 2026?
As soon as the results are made public, the MAT Selection Process based on the MAT results begins. The selection procedure is nearly identical to the CAT procedure.
-
How to Apply for Admission Candidates can apply for admission to MAT-participating institutions based on their MAT scores.
-
Group discussions (GD), personal interviews (PI), and written ability tests (WAT) are typically part of the admissions process.
-
Those who pass their particular institute's cut-off advance to further GD-PI rounds.
-
Some universities don't take it into account, but for others, the final merit list is created by adding the GK section results.
What comes after the MAT Results 2026?
Following the announcement of the MAT exam results for 2026, AIMA will forward the results to the colleges that the candidate indicated on their MAT 2026 application form. Following that, the colleges will shortlist applicants and invite them to subsequent selection phases, which may involve a personal interview (PI), written ability test (WAT), and group discussion (GD).
The institutes themselves will decide the MAT cut-offs, which will serve as the basis for the selection. Since passing this round is crucial, candidates can begin getting ready for the GD-WAT/PI. They can sign up for online programs that help pupils develop their personalities and soft skills.
If someone is unhappy with their MAT score, they can retake the test and raise their score. They will need to re-register for the test, though. For admission to all Indian colleges that accept MAT scores, a candidate's score is valid for a year.
